“Shogi Around” is a radical adaptation of shogi, a strategic board game originated from a Japanese variant of chess. While the rules of play in the traditional game of shoji remain the same, it can wrap into an innovative cylindrical form that mitigates the restrictions that are intrinsically confined within the four edges of a shogi board.

“Shogi Around” is light-weight, portable and easily accessible. With Kirigami, the pattern is achieved through letterpress and die-cut printing which can be applied to any paper type within 220-300gsm. It becomes a game that can be enjoyed by individuals who are blind or visually-impaired.
